Kids take part in ‘Pyramid Rock’
Around 50 local children attended Morecambe Parish Church’s ‘Pyramid Rock’ holiday club in August.
Volunteers from Morecambe Parish Church arranged the holiday club for 5-11 year olds at the Memorial Hall in Poulton Square.
Poulton Neighbourhood Management granted a £500 Quick Response grant to the scheme, which was used to purchase display boards.
The children were involved in lots of activities and learned many new arts and crafts skills. The artwork produced by the children was later placed on the new display boards for all the congregation at Morecambe Parish Church to admire.
Mrs Howitt organised the holiday club and said: “We are very grateful for the money to buy the display boards, before we had to borrow some all the way from Blackburn.”
Chair of Poulton Neighbourhood Management, Councillor Shirley Burns, said: “We are delighted to support the holiday club and it is great to see so many local children enjoying themselves. They have put so much effort into their designs and we are thrilled that the new display boards show off the children’s artwork for all to see.”
Local Kids Flying High
In the build up to the Catch the Wind Kite Festival in July, local children took part in kite making workshops.
Children from years 3 and 6 at Poulton-le-Sands and Morecambe Bay primary schools had great fun making colourful kites to take with them on the day of the festival.

More Music in Morecambe applied for a ‘Quick Response’ grant from Poulton Neighbourhood Management for £450 to run the sessions.
Neighbourhood Management was pleased to support the kite festival which is a fantastic event attended by hundreds of local people. These workshops helped local children to feel a part of the event and they gained new skills whilst having lots of fun.
