Halloween Firework Spectacular

Don’t forget to join us for this year’s Halloween Firework Spectacular held by Poulton Neighbourhood Management.

This is a great FREE family event that is now in its fourth year. Feel free to dress up for the occasion, last year there were some realistic witches and ghoulish costumes.

The extravaganza takes place in Morecambe High School playing field on Friday 28th October from7pm.

Welcome the New Year with a Nostalgic Glimpse at Poulton’s Past

Poulton Neighbourhood Management has produced another calendar for 2006 of photographs providing a nostalgic glimpse of Poulton’s past.

The Poulton area has a rich historical heritage, being the part of the town which, as Poulton le Sands, was the original fishing village around which Morecambe grew. These photographs capture the atmosphere of what was not only a thriving seaside resort for holidaymakers, but also a busy community for those who lived here. The photographs illustrate some dramatic changes that have taken place over the years and also some views which are still very familiar.

The people of Poulton can be justly proud of their past and, at the same time, look forward to a bright future thanks to everyone’s efforts in regenerating this part of the town.

We are most grateful to all those who donated photographs for this calendar and, in particular, to Ray Parkinson from Morecambe Press who contributed pictures from his own collection.

The calendars cost £5.00 and all proceeds go to the Friends of the Winter Gardens. They are on sale at the Neighbourhood Management Office from the end of October.
