Welcome to Poulton Neighbourhood Management
Poulton Neighbourhood Management is one of many “Pathfinders” in England promoted by the Government’s Department for Communities and Local Government. Our main aims are to address local priorities in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies. We seek to establish sustainability by encouraging services with large “mainstream” budgets, to provide a long-term commitment to our community and to use their resources in more imaginative ways. Our work falls into 5 key themes: Raising educational standards, reducing unemployment, reducing crime, improving the physical environment and improving health and supporting people.
We are working on these areas with our partners, such as: Lancashire Constabulary, Lancaster City Council, Morecambe Bay Primary Care Trust, and many, many more.
Poulton Neighbourhood Management has been in operation since 2002 and will end in 2009. Lancaster City Council has credited the project as such a success that they have recently helped to expand the Neighbourhood Management model into the West End of Morecambe with additional funding from the Government’s Safer and Stronger Communities Fund.
